With a brand new season comes a brand new set of sounds for The Glam Gizmo, including a bespoke music score for the saga to encompass the characters, stories and world that has been set up.
Meet Sebastián Montenegro, the maestro behind the themes of the series, who has been working closely with series producer Tom Denham on the creation of the music.
"Scoring for The Glam Gizmo felt like stepping into my own sci-fi adventure. I had never combined electronic textures with orchestral instruments before, so figuring out that blend was unexpected but super exciting." says Sebastián.
"It was all about experimenting, pushing sounds in different directions until they clicked, exploring new sonic possibilities until I found the perfect balance between real and synth."
Sebastián Montenegro was responsible for creating a modernised version of the titular The Glam Gizmo theme and has returned to the new season with a rocked up version of the music, as originally arranged by Station 65.
"Music becomes a very important element to the series this time around," says series producer Tom Denham, "If you go back to the original roots of the series, The Glam Gizmo started all because of an eccentric multi-millionaire rock artist.
That was something I really wanted to inject into this season especially. It's very self reflective in that way through music and story."
Sebastián concludes, "I’m better at expressing feelings through music than words, but if there’s one thing I can say, it’s that crafting a musical identity that truly feels like part of the universe is what I’m most proud of."
THE GLAM GIZMO: SEASON 5 - DEATH WHIRL will premiere Wednesday 30th April in MORTUUS DOMUM.
